Spirituality for Adults

Adult Forum
The Episcopal Church calls spiritual learning “formation” and believes it is a life-long activity. It can take place within a structured confirmation class, if a person wishes to become an Episcopalian or wishes to renew confirmation vows.
At Emmanuel, adult spiritual formation is explored in our Adult Forum gatherings, which are held at 9:15 on Sunday, between the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. services. Topics discussed range from the religious and spiritual to contemporary issues facing Christians in the world. A text or movie may be used as the basis for a discussion or an invited community leader may speak about a particular topic.
Emmanuel’s Adult Forum classes further build our sense of community.
The Way of Love: a Way of Life
For adults, growing in faith can take many forms. But no matter how you cultivate your faith - through worship, study, or serving others - the Episcopal Church offers The Way of Love.
The Way of Love is a way of life.
As Bishop Michael Curry explains the Way of Love is more than a program or curriculum, it is an intentional commitment to a set of practices. It's a commitment to follow Jesus: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest.
