Bountiful Spirit - March 1, 2021

Hebrews 1:8-12

But about the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

Reflection by Rev. Thomas Rosa

This passage sets before us Jesus as God’s chosen savior of humankind. God provide a means for us to be saved because we cannot do it by ourselves. The Son of God wraps us in his loving arms so that when called to account for our lives, we are not alone.He is our Advocate and Mediator winning for us the victory of eternal life.It is so important that we build our relationship with Jesus through prayer, meditation and do the things that are pleasing to Him.Whenever we reach out in service, concern, and commitment to the needs of others, we do it because we are following his example and imitating Him.What better way to ensure a bond with someone who loves us? This passage is a song of praise inviting us to ponder the glorious realm of God and glimpse the splendor which await those who are disciples. We are God’s agents, fellow workers transforming the peoples of the world by establishing justice and peace.

Let us pray. O Divine Redeemer fill us with your Spirit, guiding us in the ways and means necessary to establish Justice and Peace.Help us to recognize what is true, real, and right for all people.Amen.
