Baptism
Within the Episcopal Church, the Service of Baptism is one of the most joyful and important as it welcomes a person into Christ’s Body the Church. It often takes place during a Sunday service or on a feast day, including the East Vigil, Pentecost, or All Saints’ Day.
The parent of the person to be baptized, as well those sponsoring the candidate, participate in the service. Members of the congregation also participate by renewing their baptismal vows and welcoming the newly-baptized.
